Module 2: Cartography

Image
This is a map of the Main Campus in the University of West Florida located in Pensacola, Florida. I chose a light green color for the whole state, In order to make Escambia county stand out, I chose a hatched pattern for the surrounding counties. This lab was fun, I did not like how the cities were covering the star that represents the Main Campus. I spent about 2 hours looking for a solution, then found it then moved the bubble 12 points. Overall I learned over 30 new GIS terms from the book alone and 5 from the lab. I am learning to manage my time better, I got a little behind this week. I gave it my all on this map I am very pleased with the outcome!

Module 1: Overview of ArcGIS Lab Assignment

This is the first week of class, the assignment was challenging at first, it took me a while to understand what exactly I was trying to accomplish. Once the dots were placed and the color was added it started to come together then it all made sense to me. One issue I ran into was the size of the circles, I  had to tweak the size because they were huge. The ArcGIS vocab is something I am trying to get used to. I had the ArcGIS Pro Terminology guide and the About ArcGIS Pro Website open on two tabs available throughout the whole assignment. An external monitor is definitely in need. This is the first time I use ArcGIS Pro, it reminds me of the Microsoft office suite layout. Looking forward to next assignment.

GIS Course Blog Site

I am trying to figure out how to use blogger. I had to make a post in order for the Label section to come up. So far I am liking how my blog is coming out.
